Looking for some great BBQ without cleaning your grill afterwards? Don't want to wait the 4-5 hours it takes at home to make ribs that literally fall off the bone? Then you should try the recently opened Boneyard BBQ! Its a short drive west of Interstate 75 on State Route 70.
My wife doesn't like to get her fingernails dirty, so she selected the pulled pork. All meats come dry but they provide a decent selection of sauces on your table. Mix and match as you please. The corn is roasted and off the cob for maximum enjoyment with minimum mess. The macaroni and cheese could be a meal in itself, unless you are into a low carb diet, then stay away from this concoction of pasta and cheese. Did I say it has cheese??
I myself actually prefer to get my fingers and nails and hands dirty when I eat BBQ. (But make sure you don't wear a good shirt here. It won't be good afterwards!) I ordered the one pound serving size and when it arrived I thought "doesn't seem like much". But when I was half way through, I realized just how much meat are on dem bones! I don't know how they do their baked beans but they were tantalizingly good. I love creamy coleslaw made just like they way KFC did them when I was a kid. One bite and I thought I was back in time. If I had any complaints, it would be that the corn bread was just okay. But then again, I didn't go there for the cornbread.
While the ribs aren't the best I have ever eaten, they are pretty darn good. But the atmosphere is fun, colorful and alive with southern charm. And don't forget to bring your dental floss!
